The Flying Eagles have lost their opening match in the FIFA U-20 World Cup holding in New Zealand.
The Flying Eagles lost 2-4 in a thriller to 5-time champions, Brazil at the Taranaki stadium.
The game was fiery from the onset, and in 4 minutes Brazil already had the lead.
Judivan, who would go on to play a huge role, slipped in Joao Pedro and the overlapping right-back’s low cross set up Gabriel Jesus for a crisp close-range finish.
The Eagles had leveled matters just 7 minutes later, with Musa Yahaya sending an outrageous ‘rabona’ through ball for Success Isaac to race through, round the keeper and slot coolly into the unguarded net.
It was a terrible game for Nigerian goalkeeper Joshua Enaholo, who gifted away 2 goals and threw away the hardwork of the team.
The Flying Eagles are now bottom of Group E, and will play Korea DPR at 5am on the 4th of June in their next match.
