NYSC Investigates Killing Of Corps Member In Kwara

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has sent a representative to Ilorin, Kwara state to probe into the circumstances surrounding the death of a corps member, Miss Yetunde Shukrah Idowu.
The delegation led by the NYSC Director of Corps Welfare and Inspectorate, Mr. Michael Ahile, who met with the state Director of State Service, the police and the Emir of Ilorin, was received at the palace by Mogaji Are, Alhaji Aremu Zubair who vowed that the Emir would bring the culprits to book.
Mr. Ahile said, “The NYSC management receive the news of the death of Miss Yetunde Idowu with a heavy heart particularly the circumstances surrounding her dead. So the Director-General of the NYSC delegated us to come down to Kwara State to discuss with the security agencies and the traditional institution here to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of this corps member.
“The NYSC places importance on the welfare of corps members and when things like this happen particularly when they bother on death, the NYSC does not take it lying down and that is why we are here in Ilorin, Kwara State capital to see all the security agencies and the traditional institution that they would use their good offices to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of these corps member.
“As you know very well that corps members are on national assignment and its is the responsibility of all of us to protect them particularly the security agencies and the traditional institutional and the host communities.
“And so we want to condemn in very strong terms the death of this corps member and we call on the security agencies to unravel the circumstance surrounding the death and the people behind this death, the NYSC will not tolerate mindless killings of corps member on national assignment and we call on all the security agencies and the traditional institution in this state to do everything possible to find out who killed this corps member”.
If we recall, a female Corps member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) was found dead in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara state.
